DOT “Dalentine’s” dinner and meeting February 4, 2010 at Michael V’s restaurant

Excellent steak dinner and dessert was enjoyed. Big thanks to Mary Szafranski, organizer and hostess for the evening!
Multiple interesting questions concerning DOT and Dalmatians resulted in many Valentine prizes for all.

Business meeting following dinner called to order by President Marcia Givens. She thanked the members of DOT  for all the fun and participation
over the last year and encouraged everyone to help shape DOT  into what the members want it to be,  since as president she is only the spokesperson.

Moment of silence was observed in memory of Bob Switzer who recently lost his battle with cancer.

Secretary Melanie Dickey offered minutes of last meeting as published. Motion to approve last meeting minutes as published, made by Travis Taylor, seconded by Mary Szafranski, and approved.

Treasurer Shirley Schillinger stated club account balance= $3953.04. Motion to accept treasurers report made by Mary Switzer, seconded by Pat Keough, and approved.

No old business. New business: Grove dog show correct dates are April 15-18, 2010. Anyone available to help as ring stewards or general setup,  should contact Travis and Cindy Taylor.

Marcia recognized the following people and their dogs for their accomplishments this past year:

1.       Julia Soukup- “Figgy” CH JLS Freckled Fig Bar (L)—Champion #12 for MBISS CH JLS Just A Fig Newton ROM (L) “Newt”

2.       Cindy and Travis Taylor- “Trapper” CGC—Tracin N Givens Sharp Shooter CGC

3.       Lynda Brownson- “Reggie”  CGC--- BISS CH Givens N All Star Royally Regal CGC

4.       Lori Finlayson- new champion: CH Dalmino’s Mata Hari.

5.       Marcia and Doug Givens- “Bunny” CGC--- Givens N All Star Playboy Bunny CGC

6.       Marielle and Dick Robinson- “Bella”----Mareille’s baby girl of the Year award, also toy award (for tearing up all her toys) and “playmate of the year” for her involvement being published in Tulsa Pets.

Pooches, owned by Nancy Werhane, is now open in new facility (10000 sq. ft.) at 5331 E. 41 St.- go see!

Also go see Dalmatians in nursing home yard east side of st. south of Post office on Main St. Broken Arrow between 81-91 st.

Door prizes won by Mike Givens and Joyce Smith. M&M jars won by Melissa Givens, Kyle Givens, Cody Cloud, Marielle Robinson, and the Wylies.  Mystery dog picture was “Cain.” 

Most funny Dals= Melissa’s dog went into heat during Christmas parade and George got excited.Melanie and Sparkles won costume contests dressed as lookalikes and also dressed as WonderWoman and Superdog. Mary remembered the time Doug came home late and Delight was surprised, barked and bit him. Shirley remembered Delight jumped the showring rail and landed in Doug’s lap. The Wylies had their Dals dressed as firemen for Halloween.

Most embarrassing Dals= Travis’ dog gaited all wrong because of bait. James Wylie and Tobey did obedience trial, passed then Tobey peed on friend outside of ring. Doug remembered Delight peed on his  leg before showing in ring. Marielle said her dog stole steaks off her neighbors outdoor grill.
