DOT meeting 4/7/2011- at Companion Training school Meeting called to order at 7 pm by president Marcia Givens. Secretary minutes of last meeting (3/11)read aloud by Melanie Dickey- Motion by Bill S., seconded by Mary, to accept secretary minutes as read, approved. Show report by Melanie- DOT specialty for 11/4/11 is registered on AKC site and Melanie paid the $50 fee –reimbursed by DOT treasurer. Our judge Joseph Gregory is confirmed. No sweepstakes judge yet but collecting ideas from members tonight. Combined Specialties will be assigning the obedience judge. Committees for the DOT specialty= show chair Melanie, hospitality- Mary Switzer, Obedience chair- Mary Szafranski and the Wylies, Chief ring steward-Travis Taylor (will confirm at Grove dog show April 14-15), trophies-Mary and Marcia. The fundraising auction will be organized by Shirley, Joyce and Mary. Motion made by Shirley, seconded by Melanie, to continue 50/50 raffle and have just a few items for silent auction tickets, approved. We will have less food this year and just have fruit, crackers, cheese and charge $0.50 for bottles of water (or free if you buy a raffle ticket). Other discussion- Mary Szafranski asked for Marielle and Melissa to check on a new place for our Dalentine dinner next year (Michael V’s is getting more and more expensive and it’s time for a change). Coming event- Sept. 17, 2011- AKC responsible dog owner day, event (held last year at Claremore) will be at Glenpool civic center this year. Debi Harber from Mid-Continent will be chair for the fun-match there. We will be having an information about the breed booth this year. Next meeting May 5, 2011 at Companion school—be thinking of nominees for officers of the club! After brags, motion made to adjourn by Bill S., seconded by
