January 8, 2009 DOT meeting at Companion Dog Training school Attendees- Mary Switzer, Mary Szafranski, Marcia Givens, Melanie Dickey, Joe and Joyce Smith, Pat Keough, RobAnn Cloud, and Dals George, Mindy, Tony, and Lillie. Meeting called to order by president Marcia Givens at 710 pm. General announcements- Tulsa Firefighters 2009 calendar has “Trapper” in photo, Dalmatian owned by Travis Taylor. Angel and Reggie litter is due around Valentine’s Day 2/09. Mary’s Noel is going to rainbow bridge 1/14/09. Jazz, Dalmatian owned by Travis and Cindy Taylor, died suddenly last month. Secretary Melanie read minutes from Dec. 2008 meeting. Motion made by Mary Szafranski to accept minutes as read, seconded by Mary Switzer and approved. No new treasurer’s report received. Motion made by Mary Szafranski to accept published Nov. 4, 2008 treasurer’s report, seconded by Pat Keough, and approved. Website update: Mary Szafranski reports website transferred to Mike Givens and updates continue. Awards Dinner: Mary Szafranski reports awards dinner will be Thursday Feb. 5, 2009, at 6:30 pm at Michael V’s, 8222 E. 103 St. -Suite 137. Cost is $25 for each member with DOT club paying $15 of each dinner. Everyone able to attend should RSVP to Mary Szafranski by Jan. 28 for accurate dinner number. Awards (chair or jacket) are for titles achieved in 2008 by members in good standing who have attended 3 meetings, 3 events, and whose accounts are paid in full. Member of the year 2008 nominations are Mary Szafranski and Travis Taylor. Ballots will be mailed to members and votes will be returned to Secretary Melanie Dickey before Jan. 31. Applications for DOT membership received from RobAnn and Cody Cloud, and from Joyce and Joe Smith. Checks for dues will be held by treasurer until approval of applications by vote of quorum of DOT members next meeting. After brags, meeting was adjourned. |
