Meeting was called to order by President Marcia Givens after dinner of stew and brownies (yum!). Quorum was present. Members sorted old DOT meeting notes and show records to decide what needs to be preserved and what can be discarded. Motion was made by Shirley Schillinger, seconded by Marellie Robinson, to accept as published the secretary December meeting minutes, and approved. Secretary report-Melanie thanked everyone for coming to the Christmas open house Dec. 2, 2010. Treasurer’s report was handed out by Shirley. Motion was made by Melanie Dickey, seconded by Mary Switzer, to accept report as printed, approved. Public relations report- phoned in by Mary Szafranski, relayed by Marcia- our “Dalentine” dinner on Feb. 3, 2011 is being planned for Michael V’s at 8222 E. 103 St. in Tulsa. Lynda Brownson made motion, seconded by Dick Robinson, to have a choice of 3 entrées buffet (not just steak) and approved. There will be games and prizes. Cost (as voted) will be $10 per member with club paying other half, and guests pay full price. Lynda reported on Spotter- article from DOT in! She will be sending more info on events, photos, and updates about our club to be in future editions of Spotter. Marcia will be going to the Combined Specialty committee meetings and will ask about back to back specialties. Our next DOT specialty will be planned for Nov. 4, 2011, in Joplin, MO. Discussion held of 50/50 raffle of money or other fundraiser to do for this coming show. The National DCA show will be in Tulsa in 2012. Marcia talked to Nancy Werhane about where the DOT club photo books might be. Club voted to have secretary send letter to Jeff Anderson concerning return of photo history. Marcia will be sending show results from Nov. 2010 DOT specialty to the Spotter and also our date for next specialty. She will also bring proposed judges list for combined specialties to the Feb. meeting to share with members so that we can decide who our judges will be for our specialty. Visitors Jo Glaser and Ginny Krugloff introduced and welcomed. Motion was made to adjourn by Bill Schillinger, seconded by Dick Robinson, and approved. |
