DOT picnic meeting 7/2/09 at Givens home Great hamburgers and hotdogs cookout thanks to Doug and Marcia Givens! Thanks to everyone who brought delicious side dishes and desserts! Meeting called to order by president Marcia Givens at 830 pm following dinner. Members and visitors were welcomed to annual summer picnic. Secretary report- Motion made by Mary Szafranski, seconded by Marilee Robinson, to accept minutes of last meeting as published on website and emailed to members, approved. Treasurer’s report- printed report passed out to members by Shirley Schillinger, motion to approve as printed by Lynda Brownson, seconded by Marilee Robinson, and approved. Show committee report- show chair Melanie reported date of DOT specialty officially changed to Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, on AKC website after submitting paperwork requested. Judges panel submitted and approved and posted. Marcia and Mary Switzer have trophy list. Premium list with fees, new location in Joplin, etc. turned in to Barbara Jeleski (Combined Specialties) in June. The Joplin cluster of dogshows Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 1, 2009, is going to be called the “route 66 Cluster” –clever! Ads will be due in September for catalog. Slate of nominees for board officers presented : president Marcia Givens, vice-president Travis Taylor, secretary Melanie Dickey, treasurer Shirley Schillinger, member at large James Wylie. Motion made by Lynda Brownson to accept slate of officers, seconded by Marilee, and approved by membership vote. Thank you gift bags were given by president Marcia Givens to past board members. Thank you gift, club logo monogrammed black jacket, was given to President Marcia by Shirley Schillinger. Dues are due for the coming year-$30 for family and $20 for single membership, checks can be given to treasurer Shirley or mailed. Motion to adjourn made by Shirley Schillinger, seconded by Lynda Brownson, approved. After dusk, fireworks show began. Happy Independence Day! |
