DOT meeting July 7, 2011 at Givens home Cookout dinner was served with delicious side dishes! Meeting was called to order by president Marcia Givens at 8:30 pm. Drawing for 50/50 raffle was held tonight since 100 tickets have been sold. Doug Givens ticket was drawn as the winner. Secretary report by Melanie-- Motion was made by Shirley Schillinger, seconded by Mary Szafranski, to accept minutes as printed, and approved. Treasurer report handout by Shirley Schillinger- Motion was made by Mary Switzer, seconded by Erica Hill to accept report printed on handout, and approved. Public relations report by Lynda Brownson- Her Dalmatian was published in Tulsa Pets magazine. She also has sent information about our specialty into the Spotter magazine. Show Committee report by Melanie Dickey- Tristate KC will designate the judge for our second specialty designated on Nov.5. Toni Linstedt has agreed to be Sweeps judge. Trophies list has been turned in and ads for catalog will be due in Sept. Melanie will be sending to AKC the statement of compliance and latest club roster as soon as everyone has updated their information. An officer signature form has already been sent to AKC. Responsible Dog Owner Day in September will be in Glenpool. Marcia will look into getting a newer smaller club banner and we will have an information booth there. Everyone needs to update their contact information so we can issue a new club roster after august dues deadline. Election of officers- slate= president Marcia Givens, vice pres. Travis Taylor, secretary Melanie Dickey, treasurer Shirley Schillinger, member at large Mary Switzer. Motion made by Lynda Brownson, seconded by Mary Szafranski, to accept slate of officers, and approved by vote. Marcia presented thank you gifts to board, and thank you gift given to Marcia for service. Thank you note read to club from Dee Burgess and her family. They have moved to Owasso and appreciated DOT club's help after Joplin tornado. New business- An email was received from Nancy Werhane about DAL rescue needing funds for rescue and foster care dogs. After discussion, motion was made by Lynda Brownson, seconded by Melanie Dickey, that DOT club is unable to respond with money at present but is encouraging any member who can donate to do so on person to person basis. Brags- Lynda's daughter got in to medical school. Mary Switzer has new grandbaby. Motion was made to adjourn by Lonnie Dickey, seconded by Tim Szafranski, approved. |
