DOT meeting at Givens home 6/3/10 Meeting called to order by president Marcia Givens. Quorum is present. Snacks served. Treasurer’s report from Shirley Schillinger read to members by Melanie Dickey. Motion to approve as read by Lynda Brownson, seconded by Pat Keough, and approved. Secretary report from Melanie- AKC Humane Fund letter presented to club, no motion for action. Membership application to DOT received from Jane Neely with check for $20. She has attended 3 meetings, sponsored by Marcia Givens and Julia Soukup. Vote taken and membership approved. Minutes of last meeting read by Melanie, motion to approve as read by Lynda, seconded by Joyce Smith, and approved. Show committee report from Melanie- Joyce has finished some of the dog blankets for trophies. Trophy donations received by Marcia. Club to sponsor $100 BOB and $100 for High in Trial, Junior handler $25 Petsmart cards, membership will vote on this in July. We will be posting judges on Dal. Org. list. Have food at ringside again, Big ring will be available this year without waiting. We’ll pay judges Rick Miller and Pat Jones for their travel and lodging. Info on show is already on DCA website. Nancy Simmons will be obedience and rally judge. We discussed few items vs. many for auction ringside due to space and travel. Also need to call Holiday Inn about group rate reservations or check with Barbara Jeleski. We can ask vets and others about placing ads in catalog. Board submitted change in bylaws to annual dues date due (August 1)and date of lapse of membership (30 days after Aug. 1)if dues not received. Motion made to accept change as read by Lynda Bronson, seconded by Melanie, and approved by vote. Dues can be paid at meeting in July or mailed to Shirley Schillinger. Thank you to Mike Givens for updating DOT website- now members in good standing rules there as well as meeting minutes, upcoming events, etc. Nomination Committee read slate of nominees to club, no additional nominations offered from the floor. Members will vote for next year’s officers at July meeting. Results from Memorial Day weekend Mid-Continent dogshow reviewed. UKC show at Companion dog training school –conformation on Sat./Sun.
