Meeting was called to order by president Marcia Givens. Motion made by Lynda Brownson, seconded by Shirley Schillinger, to approve minutes of August meeting as published on website, and approved by vote. Treasurer Shirley Schillinger read treasurer’s report and passed out copies. Motion made by Melanie Dickey, seconded by Lynda Brownson, to approve treasurer’s report as read, and approved by vote. Show chair, Melanie Dickey reported premium is in to Barbara Jeleski, ads are due for catalog by Sept. 12 to Marcia Givens. There was discussion of moving hospitality (instead of ringside) to Doug and Marcia’s RV with Doug grilling hamburgers after show October 30,2009. Motion made by Lynda Brownson, seconded by Mary Szafranski, to cancel reserving hotel room for hospitality and use that club money for grilling hamburgers outside, approved by vote. Shirley stated Joyce is helping her with auction set-up, everyone bring auction items to next meeting Oct. 1, 2009. Travis Taylor announced dates for Grove spring show will be April 8-9-10-11, 2010. He requested anyone who could be a ring steward please let him know. Club could have ring steward class before spring to refresh everyone on what is expected of inside and outside ring stewards. Sept. 12, 2009 is responsible dog owner day at Rogers, Arkansas, Murphy dog park from 1130am-130 pm. Givens will be leaving their home to go at 930 am if anyone wants to go with them. This fall there will be a Combined Specialty ad in newspaper about responsible dog ownership and information on breeds which will count for club community outreach. Next meeting, Oct. 1, 2009, club will have a dog toy swap so bring extras or unused or gently used toys to trade. Motion to adjourn made by Mary Szafranski, seconded by Mary Switzer, and meeting adjourned. Big thank you to Travis Taylor for bringing his microchip scanner to check our dogs, and for conducting tests for Canine Good Citizen with 6 dogs tested. |
